Ateljé is constructed organically in three parts. Frame of solid beech and birch with Bonell spring system on jute felt embedded in wool wadding, cotton fabric, and outer material. Above this a layer of individually suspended pocket springs. Stretch fabric on the top of the frame. Interior spring mattress with individually responsive pocket springs wrapped in horsehair, cotton wadding, cotton fabric and outer material. The spring mattress has hand-stitched borders and tufts to keep the padding in place. Shown here with a T4 top mattress stuffed with horsehair from the horse's mane (50%) and tail (50%), surrounded by cotton wadding, cotton fabric and outer material.
